GETTING YOUR PUFFER CLEANED PROFFESSIONALLY

You can get your Puffer professionally washed, but don’t get it drycleaned because the chemicals can harm the fabrics and the fill. Check your local telephone guide and look for people that specialise in ‘Down Laundering’or see the list below for a few Drycleaners in NZ.

DIY - MACHINE WASHING YOUR PUFFER

Zip your Puffer up and turn the whole thing inside out. It’s best to wash it in a front-loading machine, but if you don’t have one be sure to put it inside a pillow case or a washing bag. Use a small amount of mild powder soap or special down soap. Don’t use detergent. To make sure all the soap gets out rinse twice. Use a gentle spin.

DRYING

Be careful when you remove your Puffer from the machine, pick the whole thing up, not just one end. Flat -dry your Puffer to start with. Once most of the water logged in the Puffer has evaporated tumble dry on a cool, low setting. If you have some tennis balls chuck them in, they will help the down to loft. Drying could take a few hours, check for down lumps and shake em out.
